Twelve score and four years ago, our ancestors brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all people, whatever gender, race, origin or creed, are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a new civil war, waged not with guns, but with ideas and images, testing again whether this nation conceived in freedom can endure the resurgence of forces that would tear down the democratic republic built upon our historic ideals.
We are met on a new virtual battlefield, an intangible space created by technologies that are being manipulated in ways intended to deceive and enslave people anew. Upon this virtual battlefield we now rededicate ourselves to preserve the nation for which our forebears died.
In a larger sense, we cannot consecrate ourselves to these ideals more highly than our ancestors have. The courageous citizens who struggled before us braved beatings, bombs, bullets, and every manner of weapon intended to subjugate humans. Once again, in this new technological arena, we face foes who seek to take our liberty, even our very humanity, from us. Therefore, it is altogether fitting and proper that we make public declaration of our loyalty to the foundational ideal of the United States of America, that no one, not even the highest authority, stands above the law.
We herewith highly resolve to act upon the great task before us, to defend liberty and law honorably with our votes, our fortunes and even our lives, so that those who came before us will not have died in vain. We pledge that our nation shall have a new birth of freedom – that we shall preserve, protect and defend government of the people, by the people, for the people, so that it shall not perish from the earth.
